Rosters
There are no rosters as such in the AAIT. If somebody is a member of your squad they may
fly on your team. All squads are asked to be honorable and use ONLY members of
their squads.
Scheduling
Liaisons will be responsible for scheduling their match (Day and Time). Once
agreement is reached they will create a thread in the AAIT Match Scheduling
forum – and they will have a server assigned. Squads should make all effort to meet their commitments –
and ensure they have spare players available.
Match Rules (Liaisons must know these)
Pre-Match
Competing Liaisons must be in contact before their scheduled
match to choose which Liaison will start the Match timer and execute server
administrative commands.
Match Format
Each side will have 8 pilots - a side is permitted to play short handed.
Each match will consist of two 60 minute rounds.
Each squad will take turns being the Attacker
& Defender.
Each squad must record a track of both rounds of
the match.
Starting the Match
Players join the server but MUST NOT HIT FLY – this is
to ensure the match server stats are accurate and because each player has limited lives.
- Once all players are in the server to begin
round 1 of the match the chosen Liaison will execute the restart map command.
This will reset the map and all the targets.
- Non-Airstart players spawn in and taxi to
takeoff positions
- Each team announces ready when all taxiing
aircraft are ready
- Once each team is ready the chosen Liaison
executes <timer 61 in chat to set the server timer and then executes the
timer chat script with ‘timer60’ in the shift+tab screen
- Players wait until Go! Is displayed – upon which airspawn pilots may enter (be careful and stagger
spawning at airstarts or collisions will occur) and
pilots on the ground may take off.
- Once a round begins, the pilots that started the
round are the only pilots that can complete the round.
- The round continues until either the timer runs
out OR a side is given victory
- A screenshot must be taken of the victory text
- Once a round is complete there will be a
5-minute break
- In between rounds squads may substitute pilots
for the second round, but once they start the round they are the only pilots
that can finish the round.
- Once the 5-minute break is complete squad
members will then re-enter the server to prepare the start of the next round.
- Once all players are back in the server the
Liaison will repeat steps 1 to 8.
Post Match
For each won round the winner receives 2 points.
For each lost round the loser receives 0 points.
For each tied round (neither side wins) each side receives 1 point.
One of the squad liaisons will report the results in the
AAIT results forum and the other liaison will confirm.
Player rules (each player must know these)
- Each player has only TWO lives per round. If you are kicked from the server for deaths
you may not rejoin the server until the round has completed.
- Respawning -Pilots will not hit refly unless any of the below applies:
-The server is telling them they may not
fly that aircraft
-They are landed
-They are “Pilot Killed” – in which case they must hit refly immediately
-Their aircraft has crashed into the ground.
-They are in their chute
- If a pilot that starts the round gets
disconnected during the match only that pilot will be allowed to reconnect to
the server to continue flying. If that
pilot had a death prior to disconnection they must voluntarily disconnect after their next death.
- Pilots may fly any aircraft that is available.
As most maps will have plane limits they should use the ‘<planes’ command
(in chat) to display available aircraft before choosing one. (Note: the command includes in flight aircaft in the total available).
- If
A player spawns and is warned that they may not fly that aircraft they should
immediately hit refly and select a different aircraft
type. If no aircraft are available they may wait until another aircraft has
returned and become available (ie swapping pilots for
an aircraft).
- Pilots must make a reasonable effort to stay on
the map at all times. Wandering short distances off is understandable but no
effort to traverse off the map to avoid the enemy is allowed.
- Pilots must make all effort to land at a
friendly airbase. An aircraft that is ‘deadstick’ may emergency land anywhere but if captured it
counts as a death .
- Vulching and perching is allowed.
- Chute killing is not allowed.
- The use of lights and smoke is allowed.
- All pilots must use the proper markings that
coincide with the theatre of war e.g. German planes wear German markings.
- All pilots must have a unique identifier on
their plane (i.e. – aircraft number). This will allow for easy identification
during track replays.
- Custom skins are not allowed.
- Bad attitude or unsportsmanlike behavior will
not be tolerated – Squads exhibiting bad behavior will be removed from the
tournament and blacklisted from any future A^A events.
This tournament is for fun so leave the ‘tude at the
door ;)
- The use of ‘Modified’ versions of IL2 1946 is
strictly prohibited.
