actually that's a really erroneous comparison.
It's more like this - having these mods is like having a Japanese bubble tea restaraunt. You limit your customer base by being specific, but then you say you can't come in unless you're wearing a blue tie with green slacks. But you're also next door to other bubble tea restaraunts that require blue ties but with red slacks.
Instead of catering to a minority (a mod flavor) and placing extra requirements beyond the minority (you need this and that enabled, but not something else) you limit yourself to only your family and friends - both of which go to the other bubble tea restaraunts unless there's already someone in your own.
Going with the official patch is like opening a mcdonalds. Everyone can come in and it doesn't matter what you're wearing.
