A Japanese invasion fleet consisting of 2 Cruisers, 3 Destroyers, 2 Sub chasers and 2 Transports was spotted at dawn. Intelligence estimates the invasion fleet to be located in grid BK-9. Their assumed objective is to land troops north of our two airfields at Milne Bay and cross overland to attack.
