Montgomery achieved their first victory over the exhausted Afrika Korps.

While Rommel is out of theatre Monty has begun his attack. The Afrika Korps are holding a river crossing to prevent an attack along the coast road. The majority of allied forces are transiting to the battle marshalling area.
Axis forces have established a supply point near their airbase that is unloading supplies and armour from Italian merchant shipping.
