Three IL2 servers up and updated - New Teamspeak 3 server

The third Angels and Airspeed server is up and running. Each is currently being updated to Ultrapack 2.1.

Weekly training open to public

Weekly training classes are open to the public. While owning a copy of Angels and Airspeed is not required you will not gain as much from the classes.

Classes are held on Monday Evenings at 7:00pm (Pacific Standard Time) and meet on teamspeak and hyperlobby.

Community Event - Wings~of~War: Midway 1942

Wings~of~War is a continuous 24 hour, 7 day dynamic campaign for IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 4.09b1m, on a bundled T-1 connection using the AAA Unified Installer v1.1.1, FB Daemon II (FBD2) and Lowengrin's Dynamic Campaign Generator (DCG).

The Wings~of~War Server will go online at 0001 hours; 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday, 7 September 2009 and will go offline at 0001 hours; 12:01 p.m. Eastern Standard Time the following Monday, 14 September 2009. The server will reset every four hours to keep the Wings~of~War generated mission objectives current and up to date. A four hour session will equal one campaign day. At the end of the one week period we will tally the scores to determine the victor.

"Il-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey" announced - FINALLY a console WW2 simulation.
In a long overdue development the XBox360 and Playstation 3 consoles will receive their first true WW2 Air Combat simulation - "IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey".

This is a HUGE development for the online WW2 air combat genre and its impact will even be felt in the PC world.

"Players will participate in some of the war's most famous battles piloting fighters, battle planes and heavy bombers across a range of thrilling missions. There are five areas of war to engage in - The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily and Korsun' representing the main airborne battles of World War II in Europe. As well as advanced environmental visuals enriching the game play, IL-2 also boasts an all new damage effects engine. Players can see real time damage to the aircraft such as holes in the wings and trail lines during dog fights. Hundreds of airplanes will take part in air battle in IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey and the unique environmental engine produces highly detailed, realistic landscapes that allow players to see breathtaking ground support actions. The difficulty levels will range from arcade to simulation."

Being a WW2 simulation Angels and Airspeed will be very relevant to it.

Announcing the "Angels" Squad.
The Angels Squad are looking to create a place where WW2 Combat Simulation enthusiasts can come together and participate in public and private simulation events.

More than that – the squad seeks to establish a truly fair and just squadron structure so that all members need not fear the croneyism and corruption that inevitably takes root in more structured and militaristic squadrons.

Angels will be just WW2 combat simulation enthusiasts treated equally and free to discuss whatever they wish with their fellow members in a welcoming and tolerant atmosphere.
